(2334) Steel dam
A dam built of steel deck supported on inclined steel struts. There are two general types of this kind of dam : (i) direct strutted steel dam wherein the load is transferred from the deck to the foundations through the inclined struts; (ii) cantilevered steel dam consisting of variations of the direct strutted type where the section of the bend supporting the upper part of the deck is formed into a cantilever truss.(Illustrated)
